Gilan Governor at the Mayors’ Summit:
Enhancing Social Satisfaction through Improved Basic Services and Urban Infrastructure
During a meeting with the mayors of Gilan province held at the Ghadir Hall of the Governorate, Hadi Haghshenas, the Governor of Gilan, emphasized the central importance of providing optimal services to citizens. He stated: “Fundamental urban measures, such as maintaining the cleanliness of thoroughfares and addressing the daily concerns of citizens, play a significant role in increasing public satisfaction and peace of mind for both residents and tourists.”
The Governor noted that the success of urban management depends on full public satisfaction and promptness in resolving challenges, adding: “The efforts of all municipal bodies must be focused on promoting service quality and public welfare.”
Furthermore, he identified the completion of development projects as a critical priority and asserted: “The executive operations of projects must not be halted; their continuity requires precision and expedited follow-up.” Mr. Haghshenas described coordination between municipalities and executive agencies as the primary key to resolving urban issues and achieving the province’s developmental goals.
Haghshenas also listed infrastructure development, improvement of urban furniture, upgrading public transportation fleets, and environmental protection as strategic priorities for urban management. He noted: “Mayors are obligated to prioritize public demands through meticulous planning and a long-term vision.”
In conclusion, the Governor of Gilan emphasized the necessity of inter-agency synergy, stating: “Attention to executive details and accountability in routine affairs is more effective in improving the quality of life and creating a positive experience for travelers than unnecessary macro-level decisions. For instance, discipline in municipal waste collection can instill a positive sense within the community.”
It is worth noting that during this summit, the major challenges facing the province’s municipalities were reviewed, and mayors shared their viewpoints and proposals.
